Gurdaspur, Sept 17: Claiming that law and order situation in Punjab was "volatile", Union Minister of State for External Affairs Vinod Khanna today said that an NDA team was likely to visit the state to study the "ground situation" in regard to the demand for imposition of President's rule. He said that he had intimated the current situation in Punjab to the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister earlier and will meet them again in this regard.

Khanna told reporters here that the agenda pursued by the Congress government to "implicate" SAD-BJP workers in false case had been rejected by the people as a Amarinder Singh has failed to provide a clean government in the state. He demanded a judicial inquiry into charges reportedly levelled by some Congress legislators regarding corruption under the present set up in Punjab at a meeting of members of Punjab legislative assembly held at Chandigarh yesterday.
