Jalandhar, Feb 05: Police arrested two drug smugglers and seized heroin worth Rs 25 lakh in the international market after an encounter in the Shastri Market area here. According to police, the duo was spotted by police on a motorcycle near the BMC Chowk here last night. After an initial exchange of fire, the police overpowered the miscreants.
The accused were admitted to the Civil Hospital here. Police seized 250 gm of heroin and a .38 bore revolver from their possession.
The two are suspected to have connections with an international gang of smugglers, police added.
