Bangalore, Sept 26: Human Resource Development Minister Murli Manohar Joshi today said a final decision on his resignation would be taken only after discussing the matter with Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Asked at the airport here by reporters if he would reconsider his decision if the Prime Minister wants, Joshi replied, "Let the Prime Minister come back (from his US tour) and after discussing with him, we will take a decision."
Queried if he is "positive about that", he reiterated, "I am saying that, after a discussion with Prime Minister, we will take a decision."
Asked if he is leaving his decision to the Prime Minister, Joshi, who is on a private visit here, said, "I tendered my resignation to the Prime Minister." Joshi tendered his resignation from the post of Human Resources Development Minister last week following a CBI court`s order to frame charges against him in the Babri Masjid demolition case.
Asked what kind of political repercussions he sees by his decision to resign, Joshi said, "There should be no political repercussions."
"It`s plain and simple. Resignation was tendered on moral grounds because i consider there are two components of politics -- polity and ethics. A balance should be maintained between the two. It`s not always that governance and state is more important. Ethical part is also important," he said. Asked about the significance of his meeting with RSS chief K S Sudershan in Delhi on Wednesday, Joshi said he meets RSS chief on and off.
"When he comes to Delhi, either he comes to me or I go to him. There is nothing unusual about it," he said. Bureau Report
