Chandigarh, Sept 23: Filmstar-turned-politician Raj Babbar today said he was planning a film based on the life of Maharaja Ranjit Singh to be produced in both English and Hindi with a big star cast. The Rs 25-crore project would be shot in Punjab, Rajasthan and Lahore, Babbar, whose last production was Shaheed Udham Singh, told reporters here. He, however, refrained from disclosing the cast of the film saying "All I can tell is that the star cast would be big". The shooting of the film would commence in November, he said on the sidelines of a function where Chief Minister Amrinder Singh unveiled a portrait of Udham Singh in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Babbar said that he had met Amrinder Singh in connection with the project. "I will not seek any financial assistance from the state government. My purpose of meeting the chief minister was to apprise him about the project," he added.
