New Delhi, Sept 08: External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha is scheduled to leave for a three-day visit of Washington today before he leaves for New York on September 10 to join Prime Minister Vajpayee’s entourage. During visit to Washington he will meet top US officials that will include US Secretary of State Colin Powell, Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, Treasury Secretary Paul O`Neill and National Security Advisor Condoleeza Rice. This will be Sinha`s first visit to Washington after taking charge of the external affairs ministry. Sinha is scheduled to arrive here on the evening of September 8 and will meet Powell on September 9. The secretary of state will host a lunch in his honour and Sinha will address a press conference that day, the sources said.
