US embassy team meets Kashmir separatists
Srinagar, May 28: Continuing its interaction with separatists, a United States embassy delegation today met former Hurriyat chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and firebrand Jamaat-e-Islami leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani separately and discussed the Kashmir issue with them.

The delegation, on a four-day visit to the valley, also met Jamaat chief G M Bhat.
A Jamaat spokesman said ways to resolve the Kashmir issue through tripartite talks involving India, Pakistan and people of Jammu and Kashmir were discussed at the meeting.
The 90-minute meeting took note of on-going peace overtures between India and Pakistan, he said adding the discussions were frank.
The team comprising political counsellor Mathew G Boyse, secretary political affairs William P Hurd and Kailash Jha arrived here yesterday and had detailed discussions with Hurriyat chairman Abdul Gani Bhat and JKLF chairman Mohammad Yaseen Malik.
