London, Nov 29: Plans to give Michael Jackson's new video its world premiere on British television were dropped at the last minute after his recording company Sony said it was not yet ready. "The video is being edited and is way behind schedule”, a Sony spokeswoman said.
"It is due to come in on Wednesday, so they will be able to play it on a future show," she said.
Producers of the long-running hit-parade show said the cancelled screening was unrelated to Jackson's legal woes in California, where he is under arrest for alleged child molestation.
Jackson's new album ‘Number Ones’ is number two on the top of the pops charts this week, with his song ‘One more chance’ ranked fifth among singles.
