IPCL to hike capacity, inch closer to RIL

Ahmedabad, June 14: Indian Petrochemicals Corporation will be expanding its capacity and further integrate operations with Reliance during the coming year.
Mukesh Ambani, chairman, IPCL, speaking at the company annual general meeting at Baroda on Friday said that IPCL plans to increase the capacity of its PVC plant at Gandhar complex by 100% to 4,00,000 tonne per year.
“The capacity of naphtha cracker plant at Vadodara complex would be increased by 30% to 2,00,000 tonne per year of ethylene,” Ambani said.
IPCL also has plans to increase its butadlene plant capacity by 35% to 75,000 tonne per year and that of benzene plant by 50% to 60,000 tonne per year. Ambani added the capacity creeps in acrylonitirle and polypropylene plants at Vadodara complex will improve production by about 15%. “IPCL envisions a future of sustained growth by striving to be one of the lowest cost petrochemical producers in the world,” he added.
