Heat wave conditions abates in some places in north
Chandigarh, June 17: Heat wave conditions today abated at some places in the northern region, but Amritsar groaned under 43.1 degrees Celsius.
Chandigarh, June 17: Heat wave conditions today abated at some places in the northern region, but Amritsar groaned under 43.1 degrees Celsius.
Mercury dropped by a degree at Ambala recording 39.3 degrees Celsius.
Chandigarh also witnessed a degree below normal temperature at 38.2 degrees Celsius, according to the meteorological department here.
Patiala and Ludhiana recorded 39.9 and 40.1 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Meanwhile, pre monsoon showers lashed parts of western and southern Rajasthan today bringing relief from scorching heat but day temperature remained above 40 degree Celsius at several places.
While in western Rajasthan, Merta recorded 39 mm rainfall, Pali and Bali registered seven mm each and Pindwara four mm, in southern parts Banswara experienced eight mm of rainfall, Chittoregarh and Salumber 14 mm each.
Jalore recorded the maximum temperature of 45 degrees Celsius followed by Ganganagar 44, Barmer and Jaisalmer 42 and Pilani 41 degrees Celsius respectively.
