New Delhi, Nov 14: In yet another breakthrough in Madhumita Shukla murder case, the CBI today recovered the weapon with which the poetess was murdered.
Agency sources said the weapon, a country-made revolver, was recovered from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh at the instance of Prakash Chander Pandey, the alleged killer of Madhumita, who was arrested on November 10.

The sources said the CBI was looking for some more people involved in the murder conspiracy and for tampering with the evidence.
They said some Uttar Pradesh police personnel were also likely to be interrogated.

Asked whether Madhumani, wife of former UP minister Amarmani Tripathi, was likely to be arrested, the sources said the CBI was awaiting a detailed interrogation report of Rohit Chaturvedi, Tripathi's cousin, Santosh Kumar Rai, an accomplice of the murderer, and Pandey.

Rai and Pandey were identified by Desraj, servant of Madhumita and the lone eye-witness in the case, during the test identification parade.
