Pondicherry, July 26: T Sanjeevi, president of Pondicherry unit of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), today welcomed the recent announcement of AICC president Sonia Gandhi expressing the congress interest to work out pact with secular parties. He told reporters here that PCC leader V Narayanasamy was not acting in accordance with the congress interest to work out understanding with secular forces. The appointment of a BJP functionary recently by the central social welfare board to function as chairperson of Pondicherry state social welfare advisory board showed how slack was the ruling Congress here, he said.

Lingaswamy, president of the youth wing of RJD here today released a book in Tamil on Laloo Prasad Yadav, founder of the party. The first copy was received by social worker and secretary of a women's association Rukmani Ammal and another social worker Mohan Gandhi at the press conference.
