Mumbai: In his new show, Amitabh Bachchan will be sharing extraordinary stories of ordinary people, and the megastar revealed that he has often personally encountered such people in his life.
Sharing an anecdote at the time of the 73-year-old actor's accident on the sets of "Coolie" in 1982, Bachchan said that a fan brought a basket full of samosas for him to touch.
"After my 'Coolie' accident, when I returned home, a guy came with a basket full of samosas. He said, 'Please touch it. I want to distribute them as you have returned and you are doing fine'. I don't like this perception but it was his faith so I did it," Bachchan said.
The actor was taken aback to see a truck loaded with samosas and when he enquired about it, the man said, "'I have a samosa stall near Metro cinema. I sell them at 8 annas per piece but when your film hits theatres I sell them at Rs 1 per samosa. Whatever I have earned is because of you, so I want to do charity now'."
In another such incident, a black marketeer would offer a rose to his family members while he was in hospital recuperating from the accident.
"When I reached home after recovering, he came to me and said, 'I am a black marketer and whatever I have earned from your films, I have used them to get my two sisters and a cousin married. I wanted to thank you so I give you a rose daily'."
