Guwahati, Nov 06: The series of loans launched by the United Bank of India (UBI) have become very popular, Nripendra Nath Baishya, the bank's Noonmati branch's deputy manager said here on Thursday. The bank launched the United Personal Loan for salaried, professionals and self employed people with reduced interest rate and a long repayment period, Baishya, who was nominated by the Goalpara District Industries and Commerce Centre for award for his excellent performance on Prime Minister Rozgar Yojana, said.

There was also a separate loan for pensioners with a repayment period of 36 months and reduced interest rate of 0.5 per cent which has been availed by many people, he said.
The United Housing Loan and the United Education Loan also feature in the special package unveiled by the bank with the housing loan provided with the lowest possible interest rate of only 7.5 per cent, Baishya said.
The bank also held a free health check up for customers last week and participated in the zonal level Khadi exhibition organised by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission this week, he said. Bureau Report
