Bassedas, who has made 22 appearances for Argentina and was in the 1998 world cup squad, has been without a club since premier league Newcastle United agreed to let him return home in March.
The midfielder joined Newcastle from Velez Sarsfield in July 2000 but made only 25 starts and scored one goal. He spent the 2001-02 season on loan at Spain's Tenerife.
''I really want to play again and I'm very enthusiastic'', he told reporters. Bassedas began his career at Velez and was in the team that won the South American Libertadores cup in 1994.
