Aug 22: Oscar de la Hoya has had a minor setback during preparation for his 13 September rematch against Shane Mosley. But the WBC and WBA super welterweight champion, who hurt his left hand while sparring, said the injury would not jeopardise his defence. "I have trained too hard to postpone the fight," he said at his camp in the mountains east of Los Angeles.
"The only one who can postpone the fight is me, and I'm not going to postpone it."
De la Hoya is desperate to avenge his loss to Mosley in 2000 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

And Top Rank president Bob Arum said he was not concerned that the fight would be postponed.

"It is being taken care of," Arum said.

"He'll be fine. It happened before. Every day it gets better. It's not broken. There's no swelling at all."

De La Hoya admitted that he had not sparred since last Friday when the damage was done.
