New Delhi: Renowned actor Kamal Haasan has been invited to be one of the key speakers at the India Conference 2016. With this honour, he will become the first South Indian actor to speak at the prestigious event.

The 2016 India Conference will be held on February 6th and 7th in Boston, Massachusetts, United States and is hosted at the Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School by the graduate students of Harvard University.


The theme for the 2016 India Conference is ‘India in Transition - Opportunities and Challenges’. How India can effectively utilize technology and emerge as a soft power, will be the theme of Haasan's address.


Currently, Kamal is in US shooting for Rajeev Kumar's untitled movie, and as per the Harvard website, he has confirmed his presence at the conclave.


Other Indians who will also be speaking at the conference include Shashi Tharoor, Nirupama Rao, Preetha Reddy and Chanda Kochhar.
