MIM leader Syed Sajjad passes away
Hyderabad, Jun 02: Senior Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) leader and two-time legislator Syed Sajjad died here today following a massive heart attack, family sources said.
Hyderabad, Jun 02: Senior Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) leader and two-time legislator Syed Sajjad died here today following a massive heart attack, family sources said.
Sajjad, 49, represented Karwan assembly constituency in the city and is survived by his wife, three sons and three daughters.
The legislator, who was suffering from diabetes-related complications for the past few days, complained of chest pain at his house in Bazarghat area, the sources said. Sajjad was rushed to a private hospital where he suffered a massive stroke around 8.30 am that proved fatal.
The MIM leader was first elected to the assembly in 1989 from Asifnagar constituency in the city but subsequently failed to retain the seat in 1994 polls. In the 1999 elections, he was elected from Karwan constituency.
The body was shifted to his residence where several people paid their last respects.
