Chandigarh, June 01: Heat wave sweeping most parts of northern India showed little signs of abating today with Hisar hot at 46.2 degrees Celsius - four above normal. Amritsar too recorded four degrees above normal touching 44 degrees C. Patiala touched 43.6 degrees C - three degrees above normal. Chandigarh and Ambala were two degrees above normal at 42.2 degrees C and 43.2 degrees C respectively, according to meteorological department here. Shimla and Srinagar were, however, pleasant at a high of 28.4 degrees C. The met office said the heat wave conditions were likely to remain unchanged for next two days. Bureau Report
