Karachi, June 01: Some 15 holidaymakers were feared drowned today when their overloaded boat capsized in a lake in southern Sindh province, police and hospital officials said. The boat was overturned in high winds at Khinjer lake near Thatta, some 130 kilometers northeast of the port city of Karachi. "Rescuers have fished out eight bodies, all women, from the lake so far and the toll could rise as a search is underway," Mohammad Dawood, a doctor at local hospital, said. Witnesses said that the boat tipped over due to overloading and gusty winds. "The boat sank due to windy weather and so far there is no survivor but rescue work is underway," police official Ramzan Khoso said. Bureau Report
