Jammu, Aug 25: Security forces today busted a Lashkar-e-Toiba recruitment channel during an operation in Doda mountains of Jammu and Kashmir and rescued seven local youths, police sources said here. Based on a tip off, a multi-pronged search and rescue operation was launched by the 10 Rashtriya Rifles and the Doda police jointly in Udianpur forests in Doda area on Saturday, the sources told, adding the rescued youths were being taken to an undisclosed hideout before onward journey to training camps in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir.
Guided by some over ground workers (OGWs), the group was to be handed over to LeT commander Shabir Atoo alias Yasir for further journey, they added.
The sources said some OGWAs managed to escape and the operation is on to nab them along with Yasir.
The youths have been identified as Shah Nawaz, Imran Wani, Bashir Ahmed, Ali Magrey, Mohammad Rafi, Irfan and Mudassar from Al village in Doda.
Doda Police had earlier rescued five youths from the clutches of militants in Kishtwar area recently.
