The banned ULFA has welcomed the desire of noted singer and music director Dr Bhupen Hazarika to help in the process of negotiation but insisted that the United Nations must be present during such talks. On the occasion of Rangali Bihu, the ULFA said it wanted the UN to oversee the proposed negotiations with the Centre. In its recent edition of its mouthpiece, "Freedom", available on the internet, the ULFA said the presence of the UN was a must besides its other conditions that the talks must be held in a foreign country and based on the question of sovereignty. The mouthpiece reiterated that the "armed struggle would continue" and the talks must be held on the preconditions set by the outfit. Bureau Report
