London, July 12: England batsman Graham Thorpe has insisted he is ready to play international cricket again and no longer has any problems about going on tour.
London, July 12: England batsman Graham Thorpe has insisted he is ready to play international cricket again and no longer has any problems about going on tour.
"It's important the selectors know where I stand on certain things in case they decide to pick me again," Thorpe told a London daily.
Surrey left-hander Thorpe, one of England's few current world-class players, has not played for his country in nearly a year following personal problems brought about by the break-up of his marriage. He quit England's tour of India two years ago because of marital difficulties and last season announced his retirement from international one-day cricket.
Thorpe, 33, then took a complete break from all cricket before returning towards the end of the season.
Having assured the selectors he was ready, he was picked for the tour of Australia, only to change his mind before the plane left England. But Thorpe, who has cancelled his one-day international retirement, insisted he was now ready to resume his England career. Bureau Report
