London, Apr 12: Jordan's Giancarlo Fisichella said justice had been done after he was declared the winner of the Brazilian Grand Prix - five days after the race. Race stewards awarded the Italian his first career win on Friday, demoting McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen to second place, after admitting there had been a timekeeping discrepancy.
"It has been a very exciting weekend and week," Fisichella told BBC Radio Five Live. "On Tuesday my engineer called me to tell my about the possibility that I could win the race, but I was not confident because after two or three days you cannot normally win the race.
"But today the FIA sent the press release saying I was the winner so I am very happy. I did a very fantastic job during the race and I would like to say thank you to the team for a fantastic strategy and a fantastic job.
"It was great to win with Jordan. It was the team's 200th grand prix so it is amazing."
Fisichella admitted, however, that he was disappointed to have been denied the opportunity to celebrate his maiden win on the podium after the race. "I will have a good party tonight, I'm sure. But obviously it would have been much better to celebrate the win on the podium," he said. "But that's life. I won and that is the most important thing."

Fisichella hopes to build on his victory by winning more points for Eddie Jordan's team at the San Marino Grand Prix on 20 April. "Eddie is a fantastic guy and there is a fantastic atmosphere in the team. I really feel at home with Jordan," said Fisichella. "I'm confident for the future. I won the race on Sunday and it could happen again.

"It depends on the weather conditions, it depends on strategy and it depends on if you're lucky. Imola is a very important race for me - it's my home race track. I'm sure it is possible to score some points because the car is getting better and better."
