Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh), Aug 10: An Indian Air Force's microlight aircraft today force landed near a village five km from Hindon airbase here without causing any casualty. An IAF spokesman said the aircraft belonging to IAF's adventure cell, captained by Flt Lt Shekhar, developed "engine seizure" 15 minutes after take off from the airbase and force landed near Pesonda village at around 1030 hours.
The two pilots on board escaped unhurt. Army officials have cordoned the area and the debris was being collected and sent to the Hindon for examination, they said.
This is the third incident of chopper crash during the last five years. In two incidents earlier, helicopters were hit by birds but this time it crashed after hitting a tree. No casualties have been reported and debris of the aircraft would be taken to the Hindon for further inquiry, the sources said. Bureau Report
