One militant killed in Assam
Guwahati, May 22: The army has shot dead one hardcore militant and recovered large number of arms and ammunition in Assam`s North Cachar Hill district.
Guwahati, May 22: The army has shot dead one hardcore militant and recovered large number of arms and ammunition in Assam's North Cachar Hill district.
After a three-day long search in thick jungles and difficult terrain of the barail mountains in Nutal Laikul and Lasang Kuki village, one hardcore Kuki National Force (KNF) militant was killed in an encounter on may 19 last, defence sources said here today. Recoveries in the operation include one ak-47 rifle with large number of arms and ammunition, several Chinese hand grenades, detonators and extortion notes of the militant organisation. The ultras was identified as K Lamkam (20) who was allegedly involved in large scale extortion from the local people in the past few months, they said.
