Inter-state gang of looters busted, property worth Rs 35 lakh recovered
Jalandhar, June 12: Police today arrested three persons and recovered goods worth over Rs 35 lakh and claimed to have busted a six-member inter-state gang of looters specialized in looting trucks laden with commodities.

Jalandhar district police chief Harpreet Singh Sidhu said on a tip off that some persons armed with lethal weapons had gathered at a place at village Takhari Goraya near here, police party raided the spot and arrested the three persons who were identified as Rishi, Rajesh Kumar alias Sonu and Kulwant Singh alias Raju.
Two other gang members managed to give slip to the police and were identified as Parveen Kumar and Nishan Singh alias Bajjar, the SSP said adding a sixth member of the gang has been identified as Baaz Singh who was convicted in a case of narcotic possession a week back.
Personal search of the arrested persons led to recovery of one .32 bore pistol with five cartridges, a countrymade pistol with two cartridges and a trailer truck and another looted truck stuffed with tea bags worth Rs 13 lakh, he added.
