Patna, Aug 13: The Patna High Court today dismissed a petition seeking a ban on sale of soft drinks in Bihar following reports of the presence of pesticides. A division bench comprising Chief Justice Ravi S Dhavan and Justice Shashank Kumar Singh dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) after a brief hearing.

The judges said that the samples of different brands of the soft drinks had been sent for test in Bihar and different parts of the country and if the petitioner had any particular complaint, he should go to the food and adulteration department. The PIL was filed by an advocate Rajiv Ranjan Singh.
