J&K govt for promoting Indian system of medicine: Singh
Jammu, Aug 19: Asserting that Indian system of medicine is `much more superior to allopathic medicines`, J&K Health Minister Choudhary Lal Singh has said that all possible efforts would be made to `revive, promote and popularise` the ayurvedic and unani system in the state.

Health Minister Choudhary Lal Singh has said that all possible efforts would be made to "revive, promote and popularise" the ayurvedic and unani system in the state.
"Indian system of medication is far more advanced when compared to English medicines as these are time tested having no side effects and are suitable to our conditions, besides being cheap and affordable," singh said addressing a public gathering at Bilawar during his tour to Kathua which concluded yesterday.
He said that the present government is committed to encourage and develop indigenous system of medicine and that research would be conducted on various herbs and plants locally available and having medicinal values.
The minister said check dams would be constructed on the River Naj and Rs 25 lakh has been sanctioned by NABARD for the purpose.
