Srinagar, June 16: Flaying the opposition National Conference for politicizing the killing of former minister of state for law Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, Jammu and Kashmir finance minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig said the axe might fall even on some senior functionaries of the previous regime whose alleged involvement in the incident is being investigated. Making a suo motto statement in the Upper House, following protest by the opposition for not taking it into confidence before going to the press with the findings of the investigation into the killing of Lone, Baig said investigations into the matter have not yet been completed.

As and when the investigations are completed the government would place the facts before the House, Baig, who was present in the assembly which witnessed unruly scenes for over an hour forcing the Speaker to adjourn the House, said.

The minister said the axe might fall even on some senior functionaries of the previous National Conference regime whose alleged involvement in the incident was being investigated.
