The banned ULFA on Saturday stated that it would negotiate with the Centre in search of peaceful solution if its conditions for such a dialogue were met. In an editorial in its mouthpiece ‘Freedom E’- mailed to a sections of the media in Guwahati said, “There is no room to speculate the possibility of a peaceful solution of the conflict. It's very clear that ULFA will only negotiate with government in search of a peaceful solution if the conditions like talk in a third country, under the mediation of UN and on the agenda of sovereignty of Assam are met.” “However, India has been flatly denying the peace proposal of ULFA and declared that the talk should be initiated without any precondition. The same stand of occupation India is still remaining as basic stumbling block for any peace. Now the farce declaration of its willingness to solve the conflict through peaceful means are aimed only to confuse the people and deceive the democratic world,” the mouthpiece alleged. Bureau Report
