Five Indian pugilists in C`wealth boxing semis
New Delhi, Aug 28: Arjuna awardee Mohammad Ali Qamar along with four other Indian pugilists has reached the semifinals of the third Commonwealth amateur boxing championship in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Besides Qamar (lightfly weight) the other semi-finalists are Jitendra Kumar (lightheavy), Akhil Kumar (flyweight), V Johnson (heavy) and Diwakar Prasad (bantamweight), an Indian Amateur Boxing Federation of India press release said here today.
In the two quarterfinals scheduled to be played later today Ramanand and V Harikishnan will represent the country in lightweight and lightwelter weight categories respectively.
Harpal Singh (superheavyweight) is the only Indian to have crashed out of the tournament.
Other teams taking part in the competition include England, Australia, Japan, Korea, Uganda and Kenya.
