Paris, Oct 23: Italy suffered mixed fortunes with Juventus maintaining their one hundred percent record with a 4-2 home win over Real Sociedad.
David Trezeguet and Marco di Vaio both scored twice as last season's losing finalists punished the woeful defending of their Spanish visitors.
The Basque side restored some respectability with two goals in the last 23 minutes through an own-goal by Igor Tudor and a strike from Francisco de Pedro.
"We have real quality throughout the squad and we demonstrated that tonight, especially in the first-half," said Trezeguet.
The reigning Italian champions and current league leaders have nine points from their three matches, three more than Sociedad and six more than third-placed Galatasaray.
