Aligarh on `full-alert` after VHP declaration on temple
Aligarh, Sept 16: A day after Vishva Hindu Parishad announced the revival of the Ram temple agitation, district officials today ordered a `full-alert` at all police stations and asked them to monitor activities of groups that may disturb peace.

The Aligarh District Magistrate has issued directives to
immediately "reactivate" peace committees in all the sensitive
localities, official sources said.
Directives were also issued to police stations across the district to remain "full-alert" and closely monitor activities of groups which may disturb peace in the near future.
Senior district officials also reviewed security arrangements in the city, they said.
Similar precautionary measures were being taken in all sensitive districts of the state, they said.
