IAF still working on the technicalities of Phalcon systems
New Delhi, Oct 01: Finalisation of an one billion dollar contract for three Israeli Phalcon AWACS systems notwithstanding, it will take sometime before the delivery is made as Indian Air Force is still working on the technicalities and compatibility of the system, Air Chief Marshall S Krishnaswamy has said.

"Indian Air Force is working on the technicalities and compatibility of the Phalcon systems, hence it will take some time before the delivery is made," S Krishnaswamy told a news agency on the sidelines of a concert organised to commemorate IAF's 71st
birthday and also 100 years of aviation.
"There are certain modifications, alterations and adjustments to be made so that the said systems are compatible for IAF and we are seeking the technical expertise of various countries in this regard", Krishnaswamy said.
The Phalcon AWACS systems are vital for maintaining superiority of Indian avionics in the region and are quite effective in their pre-emptive capability and will help in neutralising the Pakistan's missile advantage to a great extent.
About the status of hawk advanced jet trainers, Krishnaswamy indicated that "though the contract has been inked, it will take three years for the transfer to be completed." Bureau Report
