Patna, Jan 02: Bihar government today suspended the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic) R M Prasad on the charge of dereliction of duty in connection with the murder of a petrol pump owner.
Official sources said Patna range DIG and Senior Police Superintendent N H Khan had sent two separate reports to the police headquarters regarding the role of the DSP (Traffic) at the time of the murder of petrol pump owner P K Mishra near the children's park here on Monday.
A show-cause notice was also served on Prasad by Khan for allegedly fleeing from the spot after the murder of Mishra.
Notification for suspension of Prasad was issued by the state police headquarters here today, official sources said.
