Nepalese Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Thursday formed a new 41-member cabinet by reshuffling his 13-member cabinet, according to a notice of the principal press secretariat of his majesty the King. There are 18 union ministers, 16 minister of state and seven assistant ministers in the new cabinet. Two women members – one minister of state and one assistant minister -- feature in the new cabinet.
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has retained the portfolios of royal palace affairs, foreign affairs and defence. All the ministers of his previous 13-member cabinet have retained their respective portfolios.
Chiranjibi Wagle has been allotted works and physical planning ministry. Khum Bahadur Khadka and Dr Ram Sharan Mahat have been given the portfolios of home and finance ministry respectively. Purna Bahadur Khadka is the minister for industry, commerce and supplies while Rajendra Kharel is heading the women, social welfare and children ministry.
General administration has been allocated to Khem Raj Bhatta Mayalu, and law, justice and parliamentary affairs to Narendra Bikram Nembang.
Deuba had formed his 13-member cabinet on July 26.
