Imphal, July 28: Two women were arrested last night in connection with the attack on Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh's convoy at Wangjing Bazaar yesterday police said today.
Their link with any underground outfit was yet to be ascertained and interrogation was on, police said.

The Chief Minister has advised his council of ministers to avoid if possible meetings and programmes in remote areas and travel with full security in case they have some important programmes and seminars to attend, official sources said.

Unidentified militants had attacked the chief minister's convoy yesterday while he was on his way back to Imphal after inspecting some projects at Tangjeng and Sangaiyumpham. Singh had a narrow escape while two of his security personnel were killed and five others, including four police commandos and one civilian, were injured and declared out of danger by the police.
