Raipur, Sept 15: Unidentified assailants shot dead a Congress leader in Ambikapur in Naxalite-infested Sarguja district last night, police said. Lal Babu Singh, Former Vice Chairman of Ambikapur municipality, was shot dead at his office by two assailants, at about 10 pm, Sarguja Sp K Baburao told a news agency over phone. Personal rivalry could be the motive behind the killing as Singh was also a contractor, Baburao said. He ruled out Naxalites behind the killing.
