Freedom fighter Pushpalata Das dead
Guwahati, Nov 09: Noted Gandhian, freedom fighter, former parliamentarian and social activist Pushpalata Das died at a private nursing home in Kolkata today, family sources said here.

She was 88 and is survived by a daughter.
Das, who was suffering from several old age related problems, was recently taken from Guwahati to Kolkata where her daughter is settled and admitted to the nursing home.
Das was on artificial respiration for the past few days and her end came this morning.
Das, a Padma Shree awardee, was cremated in Kolkata.
Her husband, freedom fighter Omeo Kumar Das, had predeceased him.
Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi condoled the death of the veteran leader and said her contribution to the freedom struggle will be etched in the pages of Assam's glorious history.
