Christmas Spirit Shines Across India With Prayers, Celebrations And Festive Cheer- In Pics

A large crowd gathered on Park Street in Kolkata on Wednesday to celebrate Christmas, enjoying the festive atmosphere with decorations, music, and beautiful lighting.

The Yuletide spirit enveloped the nation as people gathered at churches across various states for special Christmas prayers, marking the joyous occasion with family celebrations.

 

 The festivities began with midnight masses at churches, accompanied by the pealing of bells and the joyful singing of carols. 

 

This tradition of celebrating the birth of Jesus brought communities together in a shared sense of joy, unity, and devotion, spreading warmth and cheer throughout the country during the Christmas season.

 

In Goa, home to nearly 30 per cent of Christians, thousands of devotees gathered at churches from midnight to celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus. They offered prayers.

 

Homes and commercial establishments were beautifully decorated with bright, colorful lights, and intricately crafted cribs depicting the nativity of Jesus Christ.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also greeted people on the occasion, wishing them peace and prosperity. In a post on X and said,  "Wishing you all a Merry Christmas. May the teachings of Lord Jesus Christ show everyone the path of peace and prosperity." (Images: PTI)
