New Delhi, Jan 09: Two top Naga leaders - Isak Chisi Swu and Thiungaleng Muivah - today paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at the Rajghat.

The two leaders declined to take questions from waiting newspersons at the Rajghat, where they paid floral tributes. The Naga leaders feel that Mahatma Gandhi was among the Indian leaders who understood the Naga issue, according to sources close to them.

They will hold talks with Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee later today in a bid to break the stalemate on the Naga problem with the leaders declaring that they are here for a peaceful solution.

The leaders, who arrived here late last night from Amsterdam, will confer with deputy prime minister L K Advani besides other officials during their two-day visit.
