CBI the probe into recent assault on Assamese passengers in
the state following attacks on Bihari students appearing for

The decision to hand over the probe into the incidents at

The state government decided to approach the CBI for an impartial probe into the incidents, they said.
Assam chief secretary J P Rajkhowa earlier in the day asked his Bihar counterpart to immediately institute a CBI or judicial inquiry into the attacks on railway passengers of Assam and the Northeast travelling through Bihar on November 11 and 12, which followed similar attacks on Bihari students on November 9.
In a letter to K A H Subramanian, Rajkhowa said "to allay the hurt feelings of the people of Assam and also some of the neighbouring NE states, it is of utmost importance that the government of Bihar immediately institute a high level judicial or CBI inquiry." Bureau Report
