Jammu, Nov 23: The Jammu and Kashmir accountability bill, bringing the chief minister, his cabinet colleagues and legislators under the purview of the accountability commission, was today introduced in the state assembly. The bill, introduced by law minister Muzaffar Hussain Beig, envisages establishment of an institution of accountability commission for inquiring into the allegations and grievances against public functionaries, including the chief minister, ministers, legislators and others in the administration.
The bill has provisions for investigation not only into the complaints of corruption, but also into unexplained actions or omissions, Beig said. The cause of action or grievance can be caused to anyone by not deciding a matter for months together by any minister or any functionary. Bureau Report
