New Delhi, Nov 19: Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and several party leaders today paid rich tributes to late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her 85th birth anniversary.
They laid wreaths at her Samadhi at Shakti Sthal, at a function which was also attended by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and her Cabinet colleagues and several MPs, MLAs in the morning. Later, Lok Sabha speaker Manohar Joshi and Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairperson Najma Heptullah led the dignitaries in offering tributes at Gandhi's portrait in the central hall of Parliament.

The other leaders who paid tribute to her in Parliament included Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, Sonia Gandhi, leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Shivraj V Patil, senior Congress leaders Manmohan Singh, Moti Lal Vora, K Natwar Singh, Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi, G C Malhotra and Yogendra Narain, Secretaries General of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha respectively.

A booklet containing Indira Gandhi's profile in Hindi and English, was also brought out on the occasion.
