Los Angeles, Aug 09: Bill Gates on Friday sold another 1 million shares of Microsoft common stock worth at least $25.6 million. This was announced by Microsoft in regulatory filings. Friday’s addition brings Bill Gate’s total sold shares since the beginning of August to 5 million.
Gates sold the latest 1 million shares in a series of transaction on Wednesday at prices from $25.65 to $26.16, Microsoft said in filings with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
Last Monday 2 million shares were sold for at least $51.6 million and 1 million shares on Tuesday for at least $25.8 million. He has generated total proceeds of at least $129.2 million in the sales.
Gates has periodically sold shares in the past to diversify his portfolio. He still holds more than 1 billion shares of Microsoft stock. Bureau Report
