New Delhi, Apr 18: Despite a 50 per cent cut in entertainment tax by the Delhi government, rates of cinema tickets continue to be high with marginal decrease in the costs. Rates have dropped between Rs five and Rs 30 in various categories in PVR chain of movie halls in the Capital even though the government had announced slashing of entertainment tax from 60 percent to 30 percent in this year's budget.
According to the new rate-list announced by the PVR, cinema tickets at its Saket, Naraina and Vikaspuri halls will cost Rs 125 against Rs 150 earlier.
At its Priya cinema hall, ticket for the premier class will cost Rs 130 against Rs 160; star class I would cost Rs 110 against Rs 130, standard class will cost Rs 75 against Rs 90 and front stall will cost Rs 45 against Rs 50.

The PVR Limited managing director Ajjay Bijli, however, claimed that it had passed on the "entire entertainment tax benefits to our patrons" and expressed confidence that the number of persons visiting its halls would increase. Bureau Report
