Karachi, July 10: Fire broke out during maintenance work at Pakistan's largest oil refinery, killing three workers and injuring a fourth, the company said. The fire flared yesterday in one section of Pakistan National Refinery Ltd.'s Plant in the southern city of Karachi, the company said in a statement. Three of the injured died on the way to hospital, where the fourth remained in a critical condition. The cause of the fire was not immediately known, the company said. An inquiry had been launched.
The company would offer compensation to the families of the killed and injured workers, the statement said.
