Vadodara, Jan 16: Ten persons were injured when police fired ten rounds to disperse mobs indulging in stone pelting at Panjrigar-Ranavas area of the city late last night, police said today.

Trouble started following some slogans written on kites against Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi and Hindu gods, they said, adding that it prompted the other group to resort to stone-throwing. The mobs also hurled acid bombs at each other, police said.


Police burst teargas shells and opened ten rounds of fire to disperse the mobs. Five persons were arrested in this connection, they said.

The situation was brought under control after police reinforcements were rushed to the spot, they added.
