External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh will pay a three-day visit to Myanmar from April five to discuss a proposal for building a highway linking India, Myanmar and Thailand, it was officially announced in New Delhi on Wednesday. The proposal, which has been under consideration for sometime, will consolidate the relationship among the three countries by providing better connectivity for trade, tourism and people-to-people contacts.
The foreign minister of Thailand will also be in Myanmar during Singh's visit for discussing the building of the highway.
India is engaged in a number of infrastructure projects in Myanmar. The two countries have recently signed an agreement for satellite communications.
