New Delhi, Sept 02: Royal Airways, the erstwhile private airline Modiluft, on Monday said it has received the no- objection certificate from the Customs Department for re-launching its operations, which it plans to do by the first half of next year.
The NOC was issued after Royal Airways paid the first instalment of the total dues of Rs 6.10 crore which it owed to the department as old Inland Air Travel Tax, an airline spokesman said.
The remaining dues would be paid over the next five months, he said adding, that services were likely to commence by the first half of next year.
He said the settlement with the Customs department was the last of the settlements already reached with the Airports Authority of India and three oil companies.
The erstwhile Modiluft had stopped operations in 1996 with huge debts to the Customs Department, AAI and oil companies.
